Andres Carne de Res

Night two of the pre-wedding celebrations saw us head 45 minutes outside of Bogota to Chia (where apparently a lot of the liquor laws are relaxed) to have dinner and a dance at Andres Carne de Res. This is apparently one of Bogota’s most famous restaurant / clubs and it isn’t hard to see why. Every inch of the massive venue is covered with bright, crazy, circus-like decor, mariachi bands wander around at will and dancing on the tables is pretty much mandatory.

The evening (and photo quality) was fueled by these naranja, slushy bad boys.

And the food was equally as good. We ordered a basket of starters, which included our best empanadas yet (we may be embroiled in an empanadas taste-off forcing us to try these out wherever we go). Let’s just say Colombians are genius with a deep fryer and anything to do with pork crackling. We also ordered their steak famously cooked wrapped in cloth and just thrown on the fire. This was so good I didn’t even have a chance to get a photo.

The party spilled out past the dance floor and all efforts to keep it contained were thwarted by Agardiente and Naranja cocktails.

So night two of wedding celebrations done and dusted. As is my liver.
But we’re about to get ready for the big occasion and are all ridiculously excited!
